Give Your Life a Meaning

“I have always believed and I still believe, that whatever good or bad fortune may come our way we can always give it meaning and transform it into something of value.” Hermann Hesse

Ascribing a meaning to our lives is a task that we ought to accomplish at the individual level. It is an internal dialogue that is totally unique to each one of us based on our divergent backgrounds, life experiences and people we have around us. It is a voice that we must obey and follow even though it is likely to lead us to temporarily unpleasant places.

Whether we confess it or not, we are creating and recreating our lives by each passing second and we are doing this either consciously or unconsciously, building a future that we will be forced to live in.

Life should be a thorough but progressive continuation of self-reinvention and actualization, taking cognizance of our past to examining where we are at this point and using whatever outcomes in predicting and anticipating the future. The future, a place we are at this very moment.

The voice of meaning is a powerful force. It is a giant we will all have to confront at some point in our lives. A decision that will elevate us into higher beings with a rod to exercise an influence that will cut across all generations.  A decision to do exactly what we were brought here to do. A decision to be made not by mere intelligence or leave to happenstance but mindful daily resolution, inviting God into our thoughts and obeying Him wholly.
